Makerspace training courses are designed to educate members on the safe and proper use of our equipment and the policies and procedures of the space.
Make 101 - Introduction to the Makerspace
Prerequisites: None
Description: The starting point for new members, this course introduces users to the policies and safety procedures of the space and provides basic training for simple hand tools.
Make 102 - Introduction to Laser Engraving and Cutting
Prerequisites: Make 101
Description: An introductory course required to use the Makerspace's Laser Engravers. Briefly covers the basics of laser engraving and cutting including basic maintenance and operation, file preparation, starting, monitoring, and removing a jobs.
Make 103 - Introduction to 3D Printing
Prerequisites: Make 101
Description: An introductory course required to use the Makerspace's FDM 3D printers. Briefly covers the basics of 3D printing including basic operation, model preparation and slicing, starting, monitoring, and removing a print.

Make 202 - Introduction to Fiber Laser Cutting

Make 203 - Introduction to SLA 3D Printing
Prerequisites: Make 101, Make 103
Description: Building on Make 103, this course covers stereolithographic 3D printing, a printing process that involves curing a photopolymer resin layer-by-layer. Briefly covers design considerations, slicing, starting and removing prints.
Make 240 - Introduction to Woodshop Machinery
Prerequisites: Make 101
Description: An introductory course that covers the basics of woodworking and protocols related to the wood shop, specifically five main pieces of equipment: table saw, band saw, miter saw, drill press, and sanders. A hands-on portion is also included and required during this training for students to be given wood shop access privileges.
